Trumps visit is just obscene

You seem to be missing the point, that they are dragged away from/will be absent/missing from their normal policing duties throughout this. Policing, at the best of times, is very limited, this makes things much worse.
Yes I am not ignoring that part - just trying to get down to the actual cost and how it is calculated - same with any police operation that is reported to of cost x amount - they have to pay them anyway so were is the cost

A strange way to look at it. You employ a dozen workers, building your house - you wouldn't mind them taking several days off, to work on somebody else's house, whilst you continue to pay their salaries?

Well effectively I have done that - agreed a cost with the builder and some days they were not here and they were on another job but it didn’t cost me any extra.

On day rate - I think not!
I dont know - I agreed a fixed price but they were not there every day - some days they were on another job, - gave me a rest from getting up at 7 am to let them in and supplying bacon butties all day :ROFLMAO:

Not sure how much the cost is to the uk - the built proof cars are shipped in from the US the lines of golf buggies are secret severs agents. Maybe we just have a single bobby standing at the gate ?
Single Bobby is costing Police Scotland £5M according to news reports

Not much in the way of demonstrations locally, it's well locked down.
No longer with us but this lady made her presence known at Turnberry at Trumps last visit
Having said this, there have been equally thoughtful signage spread about the place
One place under the hotel sign said Turnberry twinned with Epstein Island

But that’s my point - they have to pay them anyway so when people talk about the cost they add up all the wages that they have to pay anyway.
But yeah if its a personal visit then the US tax payer should reimburse the UK tax payer for the extra cost -- but then take away the extra cost of policing the lefty nutters in our own country who feel it is there duty to protest about an orange bloke playing a round of golf. But then if starmer is going up there to kiss his feet then that becomes a UK security responsibility.
Remember, this is a golf visit for Trump to escape Epstein blowup stateside.

All these cops providing security for an unofficial visit means the police are no longer searving the public who ultimately foot the bill. It is bad enough to get a response from the cops unless you are caught in a bus lane or doing 23 in 20 mph zone. Here is a thought, I might be able to break the law while TACO Trump is in Scotland

I had my favourite T shirt on yesterday. As usual, I got a lot of thumbs up from like minded passers by.
I wasn't at any of the protests but I saw some of it on the news, there were people holding signs saying "yer maw was an immigrant". A reference to tthe fact that Trump's own mother (Màiri Anna Nic Leòid) was from Scotland, and Gaelic was her first language.

Ok. Let us say you needed the cops to attend and they did not as they were in Scotland

I wonder if that slogan is in violation of some obscenity law?
I mean, they recently arrested a guy for holding up a cartoon from private Eye, so they may get shirty about you displaying such an opinion about Trump in public.

I had always imagined they would try to cover these sort of events using overtime. I wonder whether there are enough police for that in this case.

Perhaps they wouldn't need all those cops if halfwits didn't triggered by Trump so much ,what do they think they are going to achieve ...Answer absolutely fek all
