hi

I am looking in to putting a roof on my garage. The back half of the garage is a flat concrete roof which has already been constructed. The front half of the roof will be a tiled, hipped roof.

Now the problem...

The hipped roof can place no load on the concrete roof so all load must be placed on the side walls of the garage, however if would like the ridge of the roof to be perpendicular to the side walls. I understand this is non standard and it would be far easier to run the ridge parallel with load bearing walls, but I only want to do this if I really have to.

I've been thinking about flat top trusses running from wall to wall getting taller, but with a shorter flat top towards to ridge.

Hope this makes sense. Any help appreciated.
