TRV head broke suddenly from inside. I am trying to change the trv head but I don't remember if the last heat setting was 5 or 4 or 3. How should I know heat setting number while changing the head?
I used an eQ-3 head with is set to degrees C and can be programmed, the Terrier i30 also does the same, so you can set time heating is on in the room, in 2019 I paid £15 each.
More expensive is the Energenie and Kasa (TP-link) which connect to wifi and still more expensive are Tado, Hive, Evo-home, Wiser etc which connect to a central thermostat/hub and so control the boiler.
The non electronic have a very wide temperature range, set to say 3.5 it is fully open at around 17.5 degs C and fully closed at around 21 degs C, so how much heat the room needs to maintain the room temperature will change if it needs 3 to 4 setting. Also some go up to 4 others up to 6 so all a bit hit and miss.
