Hi All, we are looking at installing our tumble dryer in a cupboard with no external wall.

However, it is above a passage way between 2 terrace house (we own the passageway, but provide right of way for neighbours)

An idea I have had is to vent the dryer downwards, through the wooden floor, through the void, and then through the wood planking at the bottom of the floor/top of the passage way.

Are there any obvious reasons this wouldnt work? Cant think of any serious ones....

You may find that there could be a permanent updraught into your machine of cold breeze.......don't know if that will be a problem for you though!
John :)

Hi John, good shout, hadn't thought of that, as the self closing vents wouldn't work upside down!

I could use a cowl, with the hole pointed sideways...

Need to find somewhere to put everything thats in the cupboard first!
