hi. posted recently about a twin entry valve radiator needing replaced in the bathroom, so got a plumber out who was going to fit new radiators but he is now self isolating and, predictably, there is now a split in the pipe under the floor which is leaking, (gushing) water into the basement room below, can't get a plumber and was wondering if I could get cut of valves for the end of the pipes, but can't seem to find any online. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Can you get at the leaking pipe in the basement? First turn off the boiler and electric supply to it. Then turn off your main stopcock. If you can safely get to the pipe in the basement get a hammer and lump of wood/brick etc. Hammer the pipe flat both sides of the leak - should stop it.

There are some things / devices that are available such as Rothenberger Kibosh ,which just clamp onto a pipe ,no tools required . Can you show a pic of the pipe / split ,and tell us the diameter.

Its an 8mm pipe. _20200401_221230.JPG

This is the pipe work on one of the other twin entry radiators not the leaking one. The bathroom radiator is leaking about an inch below the valve

That doesn't help much !!
Need to see the pipe that's " split" ,is that 8 mm ?

Yes its exactly the same type of twin entry valve thats in the bathroom the split is where the pipes go into the floor so can't get a picture, will have to get at it from underneath. The floor is loft boards so just soaking up the water.

Ok ,looks like you will have to drain the central heating and repair. Have you managed to stop the water escaping ?
Pipes look more like 10 mm ,but pics can be decieving.

The water is no longer flowing out it is just dripping. Central heating is off
