Hoping to start on an extension in the spring, planning is through and awaiting building warrant approval.

I would like to relocate the CU and meter from it's current location to a new location in the extension at some point.

Owing to the cost involved in moving the meter this is not a high priority job and can wait until funds will allow.

My question is would it be feasable to have a new CU fitted in the new meter cupboard and have the new circuits going to there, and if so what is the best way to feed the new CU from the old unit/meter?

Probably speaking a distance of 8meters between the consumer units, extension will consist of a Garage, utility room and kitchen.

You could leave the meter where it is. Simply run a length of armoured cable between the meter and the new CU.

That is an option, but we are hoping to pull down the wall where the meter already exists and therefore increase the size of the living room.
