You're in line for Gout then. Big toe joint is the classic site for it. It's strong sharp pain in a small area, it came to me as a complete surprise, I thought I must have dropped a hammer on it and forgotten. Then came the swelling. It stops you walking, bang. A few days to clear, with pills, but act quickly.
It's crystals precipitating in the joint, so prevention is to drink loads of water, like 2-3 litres a day. There's a daily prevention pill, Allopurinol. Mine just came back, in spite of that. NSAI anti-inflammatory creams like Voltarol or Ibuprofen do help - the only thing I've found they do work on. Ot those as pills if you can take them.
You sure you're going to be able to get another?

Taking pills? I've been doing that for, um, 45 years.. They make a difference.
Make plans for things to look forward to, do things which get you meeting people.
Yeah, they don't work for me either.
What I do like watching on the inevitable daytime telly, if you can get to it, is "Money for nothing". This bint Sarah Moore gets scrap stuff and upcycles it. SHe goes to council dumps, you could do boot sales. She does some herself but uses upholsterers and woodworking etc people who do refurbs/upcycling. Then sells online. Remarkable what she makes. People pay good money for well done stuff. Without TV resources etc you'd have to go for a niche. You could do something with very few tools, paint etc , and ingenuity.
I started looking, & yes the workers and outlets are all there online. She must get a hell of a kick from it.

I just saw an ad selling these, £28 each. Only a tenner on ebay so do something else to be different. They look welded, but there are ways...
Gold plating kits aren't expensive, etc etc

Well, moved to Devon to live with my brother today. He is disabled. One leg, pacemaker, diabetic. He has been so kind to offer me a roof over my head. Such a caring brother. Least I can do us be there for him .

She has her own life to live and so you have to let her live it and look forward to seeing her when you do, she must be happy that you are with your brother and you have someone to keep you company too. I think it's great.

Been here 3 days now... So difficult being 180 miles from my daughter even though she is all for it...... I miss her so much....
My brother is not well. 75 years old. Has many issues. Glad I am here to help him. He is a superb brother.
Just got to realise that my daughter is grown up. Is independent. Etc......
