****ty life

Hey Koolpc,

Sorry to hear that things are still a bit of a struggle.

You mentioned you had too much in savings - May I ask what you’re saving for?

While I appreciate everyone one needs a bit of money for a rainy day, from what you describe, it feels like it’s raining for you right now mate. Spend a bit on yourself and improve your situation.

Also, being evicted could actually be a helpful thing in terms of housing…if you’re willing to be a bit of a pain to your current landlord and force him to evict you…then the council will have to act.

All the best
great idea other than the issue of Koolpic being a Lodger

semantics - if a lodger is made homeless, then they go up the priority list for housing support. some would argue that lodgers are more vulnerable due to the ease of eviction.

either way, it’s a moot point, because the council isn’t obliged to help in this situation.

I have been in touch with the council. Over 5 years I have been on their waiting list. They told me I am nearing the top of the list for sheltered accomodation. Thing is, the odds of me being offered a place within the next few weeks are low....

Lyis Nini is not far from me. It's a well respected animal shelter! Not sure if they take old worn out corgis!!! Woof!

Well, I don't want to spend it going towards a property. I can't handle having my own property these days. Physically and mentally. I know, it sounds odd. I just couldn't cope.

Does having savings give you less priority for social housing.

Credit please !!!!!
Think on !!!! [TM]

Many years ago we were working for a landlord who had rented the flat out to a Scottish fella he was in his early 40s

He said some thing to me which I latched into
( wish I had not)

He was a geologist working for some oil company

He was in some far flung corner of the world when he had a call from his company

“ car coming to pick you up to take you to the airport / flight booked you need to go home back to the UK “

His wife had put his 7 year old daughter and his 4 year old son into the family car to pick some one up from the airport

Car was hit by a lorry from Eastern Europe

Wife killed at the scene

7 year old daughter killed at the scene

His little boy flown by air ambulance to emergency hospital he died couple hours before his dad got back to the UK

I don’t know this fella and he tells me this WTF do you say to him ????

Sorry ?? Don’t quite hack it ???

He was living in the rental as he could no longer live in the family home

He hit the bottle but was sort of coming out of it ??

One minute he had a wife 2 children good well paid job holiday home abroad

The next minute his life fell apart
