Rads should always be under windows unless it just isn't feasible.

Reasons being the convection currents around the room to reduce the effect of draughts and also to reduce mold growth in cold spots (usually under windows).

This still applies even with the very latest double glazed and air pressure tested houses.

way it used to be done!, i always thought it was done the best and most efficient way and works properly, customer persuaded from what, aproper installed system, does easy life spring to mind!!

The one problem of course being the heat trapped getting behind the fashionable full length curtains, keeping the windows warm and the room cold.
And today, we only got about 8 hours of daylight, and it will be a while before we get to 50/50 light and dark

Or even shortish curtains that hang over, espicailly if like my houses there fitted so close to the window cill you cant tuck the curtain behind the rad.
