U value of 100mm cavity wall versus 150mm External wall insulation on a 140mm block wall.

All depends what the materials are made of.
As above, depends entirely on the type of blocks, insulation etc. EWI is normally polystyrene and 150mm would give a u-value of about 0.25...ish. Cavity walls could give you anywhere between 0.15 and 0.25 depending on the materials. What is it for?
