UK households paying the lowest levels of Tax on Record

I don’t have a problem with politicians changing directions BUT the UK needs a strong leader who is willing to make difficult and hard decisions and stick to them.

The Conservative plan to levy an extra NI levy on everyone including pensioners made a lot of sense. I would also reduce the upper rate tax band for pensioners so any extras they get, they pay for.

I would also increase the minimum number of hours people have to work before they can claim UC and allow claimants the ability to do some overtime without any clawback.

Another change I would make would be a serious clampdown on people claiming to be self employed but do the same job for the same employer for years. This would net tax up front and employers NI.

Keir Starmer will be like a poor rabbit caught in the headlights on a motorway, and we will continue to suffer. He’s trying his best to keep factions of the Labour Party happy, but as soon as he’s PM it’s all going to crumble.

Social media will have them for breakfast

Blair and Brown got away with lots because of the strong growing economy - Starmer won’t be in the same position AND just take off your blinkers and look around the developed world. Things are not rosy in many places around the globe

As for the next election , I am hoping for a hung parliament

Factions in the labour party do not compare to the Tory party being ripped apart - look at the return of Truss - she is supposed to have the backing of upto 50 members.

The Tory party cannot govern its policies don't work so they are appealing to the worst common denominator.

Lizz Truss - the wrecker.

Personally, I’ve never earned as much as I did in the last 13 years and if you have an honest bone in your body, you'll say the same too.
Earnings are not the same as standards of living.

Do you think that has improved for the majority during their time in office ?

I am also earning more than I did 13 years ago, but not relatively to costs

I would guess at 2006 to 2016 being my best years of earnings versus expenses

If you work hard then your earnings power should rise until you can no longer work hard when it will tail off, sometimes quite significantly.

If you work smart then your earnings power should rise & rise & sometimes by an alarming amount until . . . Well, until you drop deaded basically.

If you work both hard & smart . . . . Then join me at that highly rated little sea front bistro in Abersoch around 13:00 & you can buy me lunch.

Always assuming that relative costs don't increase of course

Did you not know that you've never had it so good?

I'll throw a love bomb at the Marxists masquerading as socialists amongst us & offer my opinion that it is probably the professional, above average income earners who are suffering financially the most at this time !

Seen the demand for food banks et Al. Not normally the above average incomers most in need

I have seen the demand & I have seen those who have engineered their lives in order to sponge off those of us who work & the majority of 'em get very little in the way of sympathy off of me. They will ALWAYS be poor & there's very little even the Marxists can do about it.

Have you experienced the phenomena of the Range Rovers turning up at food banks?

Imagine your mortgage is £2500 a month, you're 3mths behind already & you've just opened a letter telling you it's going up another £200's next month, the missus thinks a credit card is her birthright, you have 3x kids who start back at school next week, the "boss" has already let 5 staff go & wants to see YOU on Friday, then you're in a whole different world of poo to Chantelle & her 3x feral children who have only ever eaten junk food from a can before mummy qualified for the food bank.

I suspect quite well off parents going there as well - mortgage rates have increased and all these extra curricular activities are not cheap which their kids are likely attend.

Simple swimming lessons are now £20, gymnastics £25 then piano that's coming in at £40 etc - it all adds up

There are scant places to play outdoors now esepcially if you live in a new housing estate.

They may have two cars on the driveway it doesn't mean they are not struggling.
