Trump is being nice to Putin because he wants to get Russia out of China's orbit.
Divide and rule I think its called.
China is America's biggest adversary economically, the EU has forced Russia out of Europe and into China's sphere of influence, that isn't good for America in any future conflict with China.
Before the last World War Russia was public enemy no1, everyone was afraid of communism, that was until Hitler appeared, suddenly all the newspapers that had been calling Stalin rude names, decided he was actually a really nice bloke, Churchill wanted an alliance with him against Hitler, all Stalins past crimes were forgotten.

Trump is doing the following:
1) end of affordable care act means less people can access healthcare
2) end of forcing pharmas to provide meds at affordable prices, insulin has already increased in price
3) import tariffs will increase consumer prices
4) cancelling USAID means loss of contracts to USA farmers etc
5) deporting undocumented migrants means shortage of key workers like farming causing price rises
6) Trump won’t reverse mandated access to abortions, leaving women with less healthcare freedoms.
7) sacking of federal staff means people lose their jobs including veterans
All of those will make people’s lives worse not better
Despicable ambush demanding Ukraine surrender because Psychotrump is standing in for Putin. Bullying threatening. At least Americans could see toddler Trump in action. Never let Zelensky speak full sentence-in his 2nd language! Republican Congress, you’re next on trump’s list

Now, I'd expect this kind of talk behind closed doors, but in front of the press (and the world) at a televised meeting?
Things are not looking good for Zelensky.
It was disgusting behaviour and painful to watch, but... i think Zelensky should have bitten his tongue until he got what he wanted. He will have plenty of time further down the line to say what he honestly thinks of Trump and Vance.
