There is no way of knowing if Russia has made a complete balls up or not. Some things are odd in as much as pundits seem to be saying I wouldn't do it as they are and expected something different. A lot of noise was made about the convoy but it eventually moved so many of the comments about that seem to be incorrect. We hear they have supply problems but things still carry on.

Recently Ukraine drove back armour and soldiers. I wonder if this was one reported a little earlier. Not a big place but they set a trap by just allowing tanks in. If they want it I wonder what Russia will do next time.

C4 showed and interesting one. A google walk through a village and then a walk through recently. Mostly destroyed. No signs of anything military but they were not there when this was done. A road passes through the village - probably one they want. The wonders of war.

Mixed reports on Donbas. The original fighting line hasn't moved plus it has. Theory here is that Russia will advance west of it to cut off Ukraine troops. Classic war stuff. Maybe outflanking will get mentioned. Maybe it will be Russia WWII, loads of tanks. artillery and troops. Sound like high losses. TBH I think that has figured all along. If in a siege the occupants can have the same problem breaking out.

Anyway. Lviv has had 2 big hits. One a fuel depot and another infrastructure they didn't want to tell us about. It's noticeable that movement out of Ukraine seems to have slowed rather a lot recently. It seems people are still getting out of Mariupol in numbers but only in cars. It seems Russia has moved some out of some area - to be sent as slave labour in salt or gold mines might get mentioned who knows. Might be as stated - get them out of harms way.

Your right there for once but some seem to have problems getting to grips with this aspect.

The war - well. The initial pre 2014 riots etc were not that clear cut but it's easy to pick sides rather than accept that. Since 2014 the Ukraine has been prepared for something by 2 countries in particular - or at least mentioned. What is happening now really does look to be favourite or maybe removing the remaining problem in Donbas / if Russia sends stuff in to expand or protect it. Ukraine's attitude to the Minsk agreement has been mentioned - gun to out heads so had to accept it. It was achieved via European influences. That particular war has never really stopped. There were reports of Ukraine moving heavier stuff up prior to things kicking off.

There is some evidence that Ukraine has been fanning nationalism but that seems to be a bit of a feature in east europe. Most lines on maps of the area have been establish via wars at some point or the other all over europe. We still have some here.

People can ask what if. I don't think there is an easy answer to that. Russia may have expected a more solid Minsk agreement to be achieved.The trouble with giving way to Putin's wants is he may do the same elsewhere. This would be done by the big boys agreeing to a solution and saying look sonny you have to accept this for your own good and maybe using coercion if they don't - no money or what ever. Russia has made noises mentioning this sort of solution. There are other possible scenarios about what is actually going on now.

An academic with various actually military experience was on the BBC. He sees it as an annexation war. He reckons they usually take ~14months. It takes that long for sides to realise that a compromise is the only solution. Will might is right figure in that? These types of war usually result in attrition -I reckon all do really.

Blinken has been apologising for Biden's comment about Putin. Guess what he reckons the USA never get involved in regime changes anywhere. Maybe not with wars they are directly involved in but.........................

Also USA unhappy about Israel again. It sounds like USA aid and expecting USA foreign policy that are expected to go with them - or else. In this case it's down to Ukraine and Iran. Taking a group of the terrorist list may figure in case they do the same in Iran.

and so he invaded it and started a war and that’s it and all about it
