I was thinking either the thick cladding , or even floorboards witha nice grain.....i dont want to use laminate on the walls as i want long full length pieces so throw some ideas up for me please peeps..

Cheers , and by the way i am fully healed from my last adventure....god it feels good to be alive...( cept when the kids are on holiday..! ahem...)

When you say 'opened up', do you mean cut away all the posts and supporting timber that might be holding your staircase up?

lol ...most staircases in these houses are open plan but this one had been stud walled up ...ive checked my mates and theirs are fine opened up.

i've checked it structurally and its solid i want to do the underneath in cladding m8.. i want advice on the best type to use so its looks nice.

well a good starting point would be the size shape and measurements of the areas
also need to know what needs to be close to hand

i alway suggest sitting at the kitchen table with the real components or cutouts around you to plan the best layout
