Hi,

The annex toilet has a fan that vents outside, the grille was stuck on (not really secured anymore) with silicone.. the vent inside is unlined.. it's rough like the outside render.

Obviously the grille should be screwed to the wall but should the vent be lined inside with a plastic pipe? Does it matter?

Thanks in advance.

As long as it's not blowing into the cavity or loft or anything other void it would be alright

a steamy bathroom would cause condensation on the cold brick in winter, but presumably your WC doesn't steam much.

Measure the hole and the spigot on the fan and vent. If it's a standard size duct it is very easy to add if you want. Try to tilt it slightly so any water will run out.

Is it a cavity wall? If so, it needs a lining

p.s.
but looking at your pic, there might be a liner, rather dirty. Give it a scratch with a nail.
