Hi, I have a new Swann soundview camera I was hoping to set up on nesting birds but is now unsupported and wondered if anyone knew how I may get it connected please. I contacted Swann who said it was out of time for support.

New and not supported where you buy it from?

According to cash converter it’s a Wi-Fi and 720p which is low res.

Guessing there is a power adaptor with the unit so it can be powered up and you will need a manual which you should have if not you can find online about setting up the Wi-Fi connection.

Thanks for the reply, I wasnt bothered about the 720 as it was just for observing sitting birds.
I bought it new in the box from a boot sale. I connected to the power supply and router and entered the mac address from the camera as per the instructions to activate the wifi but the app couldn't find the camera , probably because no longer supported?

okay so I dont do swann, and just looked at their page and that was very unhelpful I have found a quick guide but not a full manual as yet.

It refers to user admin
Password it has admin
Ip address for now I would start with the local ip address so you can view whilst connected to your home network.

To view whilst away can look at later

Well there have been developements.
I view my ANPR camera through a laptop using SADP tool which I haven't done since I bought the new camera and when I launched it, it picked up the new camera.
After a few tries at user name and pw admin and 12345 was successful so now have a working camera . Just have to see if I can get pictures on my phone rather than on the laptop.
Thanks again for your help secureiam in spurring me into action

Hikvision unit rebadged then

Maybe able to use one of the Hikvision apps if its picking on SADP

Well that’s better than where you were at.

Not sure why it would show hard wired and not wireless, you check ip address is correct?

After a bit of fiddling in the settings shown by SADP Tool I found and configured WiFi so now its working as it should.
