Hi all,, as a family we purchased a SWANN DVR9-1425 with 4 wired bullet cameras from Maplin in Nov 2014. Since install had untold false alarms, especially over night even with sensitivity at its lowest.
System has hung on 3 or 4 time with today the latest failing completely with a boot loop making unusable.
Swann have asked for us to return back to them and they will repair or replace in 7-10 working days with us footing the initial shipping. :( However I feel it maybe a better choice to rip out and return all components to Maplin and install better unit. Admittedly was purchased on a budget and cost £310.00 but hoping some advise may help from here.
Criteria we need is minimum 3 cameras for external and internal, remote monitoring and motion ..

Thanks,

John

Swann = rubbish.........try Hikvision at the buget end and don't expect any unit to be false alarm free using on screen motion detection, you will need quality outdoor detector for this !

Take it back to where you purchased it from and say it isn't fit for purpose and ask for a full refund.

Hikvision are now doing the turbo TVI range 1080res over standard coax plus you can mix TVI and standard cameras on the same unit .
