Hi,
I've just moved into a new house and am upgrading the alarm system to get app functionality. The wiring switch to the new PCB looks reasonably straight forward except - the old Euro one+ system has a RS485 bus (-,+,D3,D4) for the keypads and a single 'iD' 4-terminal (-,+,E3,E4) which all the sensors are wired into. The new Euro 76 has the RS485 bus but not an obvious similar 'iD' terminal for all the sensors. I'm tempted to wire everything into the RS485 bus but worried this might be a bad idea. Alternatively I could separate out the sensors into the 8 zones input terminals, but would need to think about end of line etc... Any advice or help greatly appreciated!

Reading up a but more it looks like the old Euro one+ system uses 'id biscuits on the sensors' - is this compatible with the new alarm system?

As far as I know the 46/76 does not support ID devices , I think the older 162 panels did support a ID interface/ module , you would be better rewiring as it’s obsolete technology

Check the wiring u may be lucky and each detector may be wired back individually to the panel. If not easiest option guna be to use what wiring you can and replace rest with wireless

Look at the wiring you have to each PIR.

iD loops are usually exactly that a loop with each sensor coming off it, however you might be lucky as to what wiring you have available.

iD biscuits were fetching good prices secondhand at one time, as they are hard to get hold of so before you throw them away you might want to see if they have any value still. There re still systems that support id Biscuits but not many as its obsolete technology and has been for some time.

To use eol resistors we need 3 wires from the panel to each device that's powered.

so depending on how the id Loops were done and how many cores they were set up on will determine if you need to rewire or not.

Looks like there are 4 wires + earth coming back to the panel from each sensor. Good news. Do I need to go to each sensor and take the id biscuit out? Or can I just run through them? I guess I then wire each sensor into a separate input on the board and add in EOL resistors as 'normal'?

thanks for your help!

Take the id biscuits out and fit EOL resistors 2k2/4k7 and obviously wire each detecetor to its own input on the e76 panel
