Hi, I'm currently wanting to upgrade my two thermostats to two Hive wireless thermostats that come with receivers and a hub. l've got a (relatively) new build with a Ideal H15 system boiler that has two thermostats (upstairs and downstairs) and a hot water tank upstairs. I've been trying to follow Hives install instructions but they don't tie in with what I have.

So my current wiring uses HW ON, CH1 ON AND CH2 ON. According to Hive I need wiring for Central Heating and Hot Water Off?? Am I missing something here or is there some change I need to make with the existing wiring to make it fit the Hive system?

I’ve attached pics of my current heating control wiring and Hives wiring diagram

If your existing system doesn't use hot water off (y-plan) then the hive won't. Your existing system is likely a 3 channel, whereas Hive dual channel is simply this. So you would need an additional receiver to wire into the other heating on.

Sorry I should have mentioned, I have got another thermostat and receiver, am I right in thinking that it’s simply a case of looping the Live, Neutral and CH2 cable across to the 2nd receiver?

Not quite, the single channel Hive has a slightly different wiring layout to the dual channel.
You would loop across L, N and Earth

Sorry, the website is having issues at the mo.

You would loop across L, N and Earth.
Then you would connect the CH2 wire to terminal 3 and add a short link wire between L and terminal 1 on the Hive backplate.

As you have 3 channels in total: HW, CH1 and CH2. You will need:

1 x Dual Channel Hive for HW and CH1
1 x Single Channel Hive for CH2

I think you hint at having one with Hot Water control in your first post.

So, no worries if you already are aware of this and have it in hand, but you didn't mention it, so I thought I would. :giggle:
