UPVC Patio Door handle not going up fully

Hello,

My patio door wont lock. To lock the door you push the door handle up far enough and turn the key. However, the handle will not go up all the way and therefore the key wont turn to lock the door.

It does this whether the door is open or closed, so it's not that it's misaligned with the other door. I have taken the handles off and checked the lock mechanism, that seems fine, is lubricated, turns easily etc. Even with the lock mechanism removed, the door handle still will not raise fully. Its the main door of the two, and I don't really know what else to try? Any ideas/suggestions are welcome as I'm not a fan of leaving my back door unlocked over night.

I've ordered some new handles. If they don't solve it, I'm sending him the bill.
