Hi all,

I have a Valliant Aquaplus 362-7 and looking at installing Hive Heating.

The current layout is a manual programmer in the boiler fascia, and then a wired thermostat down in my hallway.

Water is on demand, no tank, so I only need the Heating version of the Hive, and single channel receiver.

I'm just puzzled right now where I place the receiver? Can it simply replace the thermostat? I don't use the programmer on the boiler and just currently call for heating on demand, but obviously want to be changing that behaviour with the Hive installed.

There's only one cable going to the boiler currently and that's a switched mains on fuse, so if I need the receiver in the airing Cupboard I assume I'll have to run a fresh cable out from the main PCB and mount it on the wall side?

Pics can follow if they will be useful.

Cheers

It depends on your thermostat, and photo wiring of this would be helpful.

Below is wiring on boiler side.

@CBW will grab a pic now

Honeywell thermostat wiring, it's down in hallway right near front door with no rad nearby, hence why I want hive as the rest of the house gets red hot lol

I can pull it away from wall in bit if you need to see anything behind

This is my control panel which is set to "sun" all the time, timer is essentially disabled on boiler side.

Yes receiver can go in hallway wired as follows from Honeywell to Hive:
1 to Live
2 to Neutral
3 to Normally open/heating on
Green and yellow to earth terminal
Place a link wire from L to Com

Hey @CBW might be thick here but what do you mean by L to Com? Obviously a link wire out from L on the Hive but to where?

May have figured it out...let me know if its correct if you can.

Honeywell to Hive
1 > Live
2 > Neutral
3 > 3
Earth to Earth
Link Live (Hive) > 1 (Hive - Common)

Sound about right @CBW?

Should the grey be to N and the black to term 3?!

May have been dust disguising the colours original images?
