Vaillant Ecomax VU 266 EH

Has anyone any experience of this model. Came across this boiler for the first time today. looks like a short lived model. Problems are a banging noise from the main combustion area when CH is on.
Fan seems OK and the pump sounds to be rotating smoothly.
My initial thoughts are a blocked Heat Exchanger and I have spoken to Vaillant who recommend removing to unblock and descale.
I have downloaded MI and it looks fairly straight forward but would appreciate any input from someone with experience of this boiler.
Any recommend fro descaling chemical to use?
