Firstly you should not be opening the casing as its the room seal for the boiler.

Secondly it does not sound as if the service was done properly or rather completely.

I suggest you call them back again to do it properly.

I don't understand what you mean by 'the casing ...(i)s the room seal for the boiler' Tony. The underside of the 'casing' is a ventilated plastic cover. There is no seal. Obviously the boiler itself is sealed from the room and I wouldn't consider tampering with that.

As to whether the service was done properly or rather completely, I'm not competant to say.

I'll let you know if any problems resurface.

Fault slowly got worse so I replaced the pressure sensor yesterday. Problem solved.

The old sensor had a grainy feel over the surface. I assume the tapping dislodged the deposition to allow it to work for a little while longer.
