Hi,

I am having a problem with a vaillant turbomax 242 - The pressure guage was advised to be set at a 1.5 to 2.0, and to check the guage regularly.

I have been fine with this with just an occasional boost every few months to maintain the correct level. But now I am finding it is changing and losing pressure over the period of a less than a week. Is this likely to cause damage? and is it an expensive repair?

COuld be leaking. Any water dripping from pipe which goes through the wall? Second thing to check would be the pressure /expansion vessel precharge pressure. Very FAQ - do a search
