hi, my boiler has come up with fault f.28 .i can see the boiler sparking but it is not firing up. does anyone have any suggestions?

f28 is lack of or no gas. If you gas supply is ok then this points to the gas valve.

i have definately got a working gas supply. if it is a fault with the gas valve can i fix it myself or do i need to call someone in. on day boiler broke was sanding a door next to it. do you think dust could have affected valve?

On the face of it sanding should not have affected it as its room sealed.

You should have a competent CORGI engineer to fit and set up the gas valve.
