OP appears to have found a way to trick it into believing it's located elsewhere.
I have no idea as I don't have vSMART. I'm considering it, just trying to find out more about how it all operates.
My concern is that the 2 port motorised valves (in S plan configuration) will be driven open by the VR66 module. But there is no check to see that the valves actually open successfully. Therefore boiler could be pumping against a closed valve?

Yes, but sometimes the nearest weather station doesn't provide the most accurate data.
