Can anyone shed any light on the following:
The boiler starts up every few minutes and runs for a short period of time (mostly less than 60 seconds). This occurs throughout the day and is definitely NOT associated with any demand for hot water or central heating. In fact it is noticeable that if you run the hot water (say a bowl full for washing up) the boiler does not immediately respond.
It is as though the boiler is keeping itself warm!
Boiler has recently been serviced and both the hot water cylinder stat and the boiler ignition electrodes have been changed.
The service engineer had no idea why the boiler was firing as described above and did not seem bothered.
Is this the way the boiler is designed to work? Seems as though I am using gas and electricity that I should not need to.
Regards Trevor
