Vectra front wipers.

On my 1999 Vectra, the front wipers no longer park themselves. Have been told it needs a new wiper motor, about £190 for part. Is this fault likely to be any other reason - for example, dirt in the motor - and is this job very difficult? I was thinking of doing it myself. Any advice much appreciated, thankyou.

You could at one time take them apart and fix them but I dont think that is viable anymore. Buy a used one from ebay, much cheaper.

Thanks for the replies, the Vauxhall Owners link looks most useful. If I cannot find a good wiper motor at local breakers this week, I shall try this.
