Vectra - Headlamp/tail light check

Hello all,

Early last week the headlamp bulb on the drivers side of the car went pop and on the dash the 'Check- Headland/tail light' signal came on. I replaced the bulb a few hours later and for a few days I never saw the 'Check' sign again. Now though it's coming on all the time! I have checked all the lights and the bulbs appear to be working fine.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Have you put the correct size lamp in?

Hi Spark,

I think so yes. I went to Halfords and the chap there asked me about my car and then handed me the bulb which I then put in.

Am I best getting another one of the same to ensure that they are both identical?

Possibly - some lamp failure units work by monitoring the current going to each side of the car and comparing the two. If there is a difference then they bring the failure lamp on.

Have you checked the brake lights

Hi Spark - I'll get another bulb at the weekend and see what happens there.

Hi Andy - Yep, all lights seem ok. Brake, fog, side, main and spots etc.
