Veritas 8 and RKP silent (only on High level chime)

Hey folks,

Bit of a puzzler this... installed a Veritas R8 a while ago and it all works very well on all eight zones. Odd thing I found is that if I set the panel on High Level Chime (chime at full volume) the RKP makes no sound on door opening. If however i put the volume back to "normal", RKP chimes on doors opening (as expected).

Is this normal?, seems really odd that the RKP (Veritas RKP) would only make a sound if the panel is NOT set to High Level Chime..

thoughts?, experiences?

Hi,

If the volume from the panel is loud enough to be heard from a distance then maybe, and it's just a maybe, the maufacturer sees no apparent reason for the remote keypad to sound at all. On the other hand though, the keypad sounder is probably smaller than the panel sounder which may be taking all the juice, or, the keypad sounder can not handle that sort of volume. All guesses, on my behalf since I am not really a Texecom chappie. So I could be miles away on this one.
