veritas R8 keyapd tamper light on

Hi folks

Our intruder alarm has been off for a good while (oops) and today i replaced the control panel battery.

The keypad now has a permanent red tamper light on. Tried resetting and it wont have it.

Looked through the manual and found the info to highlight the tamper fault and the manual shows its a Bell fault/global tamper.

I cant see anything obvious so im wondering could it be the battery in the bell box? Would a flat battery highlight the tamper led? Bell box has been up there since before we moved in (11 years!)

You haven't put the lid on correctly or you have knocked the tamper spring off

Have checked the control panel tamper switch. All good the spring is intact and i can hear it click when cover goes on.

Panel set to engineer reset in tamper ? Do you have engineer code ?

Have had a look in the panel and the manual and linked out the 'Tamp' terminals and this has cleared the fault. Looks like its something to do with the global tamper wiring

Where to start?

When you say off , was it working before you replaced battery or did it have a tamper before changing the battery ?

Was a pir lid not on properly!

disconnect from mains(remove fuse)disconnect battery,reconnect battery reconnect to mains put your code in and press reset

lid was on ok,after reboot everything back to normal only doorchime to reset.
