Hi, i am putting in a wall hung toilet and because my existing waste pipe in the ground is too far from my outside wall, I need to build the wall out a small way.

Its in an alcove and I only need to bring it out by 6 inches and only 1.5 metres high.

My question is what size wood do i use for the frame and what type of wood.
Should i use plasterboard or plywood.
Its only a wall to connect my steel frame to.

Thanks for any advice.

are you talking about a floating toilet or sistern!!!!

if its a floating toilet bowl you will need a sustantial structure to support the weight!!

Yes i think they are the same, the bowl will attach to a stell frame which is included in the kit.
The steel kit has four fixings, 1 in each corner that would be screwed into a wall.
So as I cannot use my brick wall I'll need to make a small 6 inch wide partition.
The fixings would then need to be fixed through the new partition into a batten behind.

Maybe this is too much for a simple diyer ?
I can follow instructions and was hoping to find some 'how to" info on doing this myself.

Thanks

Can you do a drawing?

I wondering to make it easier for you to use 18mm plywood on the whole wall pass the corner 6" then finish off with timber studding on the edge. I don't know if I'm reading it right

Please see the attached drawing.
The distance in the alcove is 700mm.
The dotted line is where I beleive the 'new' wall needs to go, 1 metre high.
The circle is my current waste hole.
The red line is the steel frame which has brackets for the floor and to the "new' wall.
I'll then cover the steel frame with plasterboard or ply, and tile.

Hope this helps

its between the outside wall (top) and the dotted line.
Wifes changed her mind, this is not for a wall hung loo anymore...just a back to wall loo so there will be no load on the wall.
So I need really just a lightweight partition being constructed.
What size would the studs need to be as I will be using aquapanel.

Bolt 6inch timber vertically to outside wall and cover with plasterboard, you can then fix loo to timbers.
