Vet bill !!!!

I've got a three year old stray short - haired tabby (the vet had a guess... size weight, etc. ) and at first, the missus couldn't stick him, but now she wouldn't be without him :D

As for spending obscene amounts of money on pets, that's down to personal choice. People spend thousands on cars, holidays, hobbies, so why not pets ?????

I think that bobdole is trying to get a rise out of pet lovers everywhere

Well he can kiss my heiny

He's the 1 who shouldnt use the NHS as he's probably on the dole so dont contribute

Oh and I spent £7k on modding my car as well

I THINK SPENDING £3000 ON A MUT IS A CRIME AND A DISGRACE ON SOCIETY ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU GO ON THE NHS INSTEAD OF PAYING FOR YOUR OWN treatment. A b******y disgrace tjhis is and i hope you lot should hang your heads in shame,
I payed for the NHS so your talking poo

Only joking i would spend my last penny on my pet crockadile to get a pair of shoes out of em.

I know this is gonna sound like the Monty python sketch with the yorkshiremen but........

Our rotty is now 10 yrs old, we got her when she was 3½ & in them years we've spent almost £17k at the vets

I must admit though that if she wasn't insured, I'm not sure if she would've still been here. The biggest single bill we've had is just short of £1600.

Some sort of immune system problem she's got, her body keeps rejecting her own extremities. She's been on 8 tablets a day since she was 4 !!!

Poor thing ,, :(

I wouldnt be without my 2 :D

Aww, they are gorgeous! How old are they? My older Staff X is almost 9 and my younger Staff is just over 2. He's a little devil. Like a naughty kid sometimes. I have the two of them insured but I'm arguing with myself about it. Our policies were with M&S and we had no excess for the past couple of years but now they've put a £70 + 20% excess on the older one. Haven't had the younger one's renewal yet.

My 2 are just over 2yrs now ,, the ggghouse was not right while she was in the vets but so glad she's home :D
Both cuddled up by our feet as I type :p

The policy I just got through monysupermarket works out @ £13 or just under a month for both of em ..
That will be the older 1ns age for the XS :(
I wouldnt take the risk of no insurance again I tell ya ;)

I know that if I don't keep his insurance up, I'll need it. So far, all he's ever needed is ear drops for his ears (he gets a bit of trouble with one of them) and a couple of teeth out (my fault - accidently knocked his tooth loose!). His ears aren't even covered with his insurance cos it's a pre-existing condition. Sure as eggs is eggs - no insurance - poorly dog.

I hate having to leave either of them at the vet. It's horrible coming out with a collar and lead and no dog.

Hope your girl gets better soon. And I'm away to check on moneysupermarket for insurance quotes!

I did have a quick look on confused.com or something like that, but I'd been trying to get quotes for my brother's car too (which was a nightmare - imports bad enough, but add mods and nobody wants to insure it). Got a phonecall asking what I thought of the quote and didn't know if it was the car or the dog!

Ooo I can help ya with that ,, I got an import with loads a mods as I go to shows so know of a few good companies who specialise,,, what car has he got ?

Impreza WRX Type RA. The only mods he's done are alloys, exhaust, induction kit and 4 pot callipers.

The best quote I got was with Keith Michaels but it's got a £350 excess on it. Some of the quotes were hysterically funny. I did get some good quotes with reasonable excesses but they were all wanting trackers fitted. Some of the excesses were nearly as much as the quote.

I've been at it for over a week and my brain is frazzled with it all.

I got an FTO modded to the hilt with body kit engine bay and lots more ,,, mid life me thinks

Try :
Lifesure 01480474604
Sky 08701 121 759
Adrian Flux 0800 089 0035

All specialise in Jap imports ;)

I got mine with Lifesure !!!

Cheers will try them too.

Nowt wrong with liking cars. I'm trying to persuade him to put me on the insurance too but I just keep getting dirty looks from him. I like his car better than my own.

Me? I've got a Mazda 3! I've always had to have the sensible car cos it's me that always get landed ferrying the parents and grandparents about, going for the shopping, taking dogs to vets. It's sad.

I say that John's car doesn't look like an Impreza cos he's never put a spoiler on it or anything. He was going for the wolf in sheeps clothing look! The day he brought it up the road, he took me out in it - I was nearly sick. It's faster than his old Impreza.

Here it is:

This is when he first got it - he's done some work in there since but I've not taken any pics.

Nice car  and bloomin scary under that bonnet , just look how busy it is under there

Awwwwwwww look @ em :p
I so love staffs :D

When I go to customers houses and they have staffs they always say are you alright with dogs ,, hehe I just go straight to them and give em a good fuss and they are next to me throughout the job :)

There ARE the best dogs eva ;)

Why doncha get a Legnum estate  beast of an estate I tell ya

I'm lost under the bonnets of cars now - yours is very clean and tidy and nice lookin - loadsa work went on there I guess - but I don't recognise anything! Last time I worked on a car engine, it was points and condensers!! I just stand and nod when John's going on about his! Though I'm learning the intracacies of massive sound systems - that's what he's into.

The older dog likes visitors and would probably hand your tools to you - he's a nosey sod and will sit there watching what you're doing intently - I'm sure he's taking it all in.

The younger one is scared of men for some reason - he'll let ya in, let ya give him a quick pat, then will start barking for you to go now. It didn't help when some guy stopped one day in the street to tell me what a nice looking dog he was. I told him not to go to the dog but if the dog went to him, fine. So the wee dog plucks up the courage to go over to the guy for a pat. The guy takes his ciggie out of his mouth, bends down to fuss him - and burned the dog's ear with his fag! The dog shot back about 6 feet, gave me a filthy look, then went back and had a snap at the guy! He's been worse since then! He's a very timid dog though. Scared of a lot of things - so much for the hard Staffie image!

You have to know how to be with Staffs doncha !! Ive never met a staff that didnt wanna come home with me ;)

Job I was @ a few weeks back had 3 of em all rescue and the customer put em in the yard for my safety
I asked em to let em in and hesitantly they did,, I was on my knees in front of their back boiler and @ first ignored em coz I coud see they were wary of me ,, within 2 mins they were all sitting next to me watching intently and I was speaking to em like I do my own and their heads were doing that cocking thing they do :)
Customer was gobsmacked coz by the end of the job (just over 1 hr) they were all over me :D
