Hi
I want to install a video door bell camera, don't know much about it. Few questions:

1. Is mains powered better than battery? I have an infra red activated light by ther door, can I simply borrow L&N to power a wired video door bell or do i need transformer?
2. Do these camera have storage or all vids are stored in cloud?
3. Would a cheap camera from ebay do the job?
4. Any other relevant points is welcome.

Thanks

After a brief research, I think I need a battery video door bell camera without subscription, able to store videos in clouds, does such device exist?

Yes but cloud storage is by subscription , I have sd card in mine which stores months of footage even when set to 24/7 recording . Battery life is between 2-3 months on the cameras I have tried . Paid between £30-50 for mine though check places like Facebook marketplace where you can often get a new one cheap ( people buy them with intention to use but often don’t install ).
I also have a Tapo 310 camera over front door which offers all the same features ( warning of visitors , phone notification , sd card recording , two way conversation etc)
And also an alarm feature . Only thing missing is a door bell to press , but you can’t approach property without a notification to your phone .

This looks a good buy.
