I have been reading the forums to find a solution to my problems but haven't seen a problem similar to mine. My system is approx 3 years old and I have been having problems with the unit not accepting incoming calls or texts. It will text me with a condition or alarm but ignores any phone commands. The system then started repeating texts. If I disarmed, it would text me several times instead of only once. I disconnected the battery and the power for approx 60 sec then connected the battery then the power and put the panel back together. I haven't tried calling the panel yet. I think that stopped the multiple texts. The problem now, is that the lcd screen is blank. The system will set and function but I cannot enter any mode since the screen is blank. Any help would be appreciated!

doesn't sound promising, this site is mainly occupied by UK folk, Visonic isn't very well supported here even for uk models.

I would try powering up on mains only, if the screen doesn't illuminate at all since you opened the panel check for lose connections/ ribbons that have no where to go.

as for incoming messages, the correct format for the commands needs to be sent, I am guessing this used to work?

Thanks for the response. After trying everything and finding that the system at just 3 years old is obsolete, I tried accessing with a pc. I have spent most of the day trying to configure my phone as a modem and downloading remote control software from Visonic and then trying to get the program to access the panel. No luck on accessing, yet. Thought with not a lot to lose, I would try an old trick from when television had rabbit ears and when it didn't work you just whacked the side of the set to straighten it out. Don't think that ever worked but.....I took the panel apart and even though I could not get to the lcd panel without major surgery, I gently tapped it behind the panel. Lcd panel is back working! Never write off old school technology, I guess. Must be a loose connection. Now I will get back to the original problem of multiple texts from one event. Probably going to be an out of date gsm unit. Thanks again

the old methods are simple but often effective have your tried turning it off and on again is a classic.

hope things get resolved, multi texts I would check how many tries you have it set to and how often your number is in the system, but cant see whay that would have changed.

Sorry to be reviving an old thread but I also have a powermax Pro and am wondering how you got the modem control sw and codes? I am self monitoring and have just used the web interface to control when away from home. SMS has been working good for me with no problems.
