Hi,

I do not know if there is a problem or the fact that the temperature outside might be causing the issue.

My Boiler seems ok but the problem is that you have to have the shower on really fine to enable you to have a warm shower. When you run a bath you have to turn the tap to almost off to get the water to come out hot.

Is there a problem with the boiler or is it because its minus 200 outside

Hope you can help

Its the boiler....does the flow pipe to the radiators get hot whilst you are running a hot tap?

Hi Mate,

I am pretty sure the pipe to the radiators do indeed get hot whilst calling for hot water - I will confirm this tonight.

Thanks Scatmanjohn, I appreciate any advice on fixes for this

Regards Ken

DIverter valve has diaphragm which can split which drives diverter parts which can stick or get obstructed. Temp control is high/low from thermostat which packs up, to gas valve which can go out of adjustment, and the water's heated in a heat exchanger which clogs up. Easy.

OK,

I have had a quick look at the boiler and the pipe going to radiators does not get hot when you call for hot water.

Regarding the DHW thermostat dial - the flame does not differentiate when you turn the dial from min to max and vice versa - Could it be the thermostat causing the issue - the boiler flame seems to fire up on max setting so does that rule out the thermostat being the problem

I have just got a price for the thermostat and its £25 quid - I do not have the funds at the moment to buy it and then find out it ain't the problem

Part number is code = 5394 G.C. No. 301025

Hope you can help

these boilers have an air bleed on top of the secondary heat exchanger, if the system has emptied for any reason this may need bleeding.

its the massive white doofer. you can see the bleed nipple on top.

the air bleed is on top of circled bit, 10mm spanner reqd, I think.

Yes I have checked this already and seems ok

I am going to check whether the DHW expansion vessel is pressurised and am waiting for a gauge - I have noticed that there is a much bigger red Expansion Vessel that has been fitted so will check it also

Thanks guys any more suggestions welcome

Ken
