I am having a problem with my boiler since I had a power cut a couple of weeks ago. I've had no heat or hot water since then. Can anyone advise me on what I could maybe do about it. I've topped up the presure and cleaned the gas burners but nothing has worked. I did phone up a company and explained it to them but they never turned up, so I'm worried something terminal that's up with it! Any advise greatly appreciated.

You phoned the wrong people then.

Power outage will not hurt this boiler. Breakdown is more likely to be due to lack of proper service (see this on just about every Flowmatic)

Am in Bearsden. Carry often needed parts for first call repair (hopefully)

No Kev, far from it, but this is a boiler that operates line a swiss watch when it get TLC from a careing engineer.

Now all I have to doi is be a careing engineer.

Thanks DP.
I had another look at the pilot light as it had gone out and tried to fire the boiler up again and surprise surprise it has started working!! The water is still on strike though so I do need someone to look at it and service it (if it's not too dear). How do I get in touch with you to arrange something?
