Lucy, it is possible to diagnose defects (like on your dead boiler) remotely. If your tenant could be the remote eyes and ears, boiler could be easily diagnosed. Operation is sequential, so he/ she will be able to follow instructions to come up with possible cause of failure for local engineer (if he is not familiar with Flowmatic) to effect repairs.
Flowmatics do not normally die like this.
