Hi,

Not an expert so please be gentle! My combi boiler seems to refuse to fill up.

The boiler works for water and heating, the only clue to a problem was a lot of noise coming from the pipes and I then noticed a pipe pouring water into my neighbour's garden! When I shut off the water supply to the boiler the pressure drops to zero and the red light comes on.

My (uneducated) guess is the pressure release valve is stuck open. Am I on the right lines? Is this a DIY-able job? I've tried 'turning it off and on again'!

Thanks in advance

Ha ha. Took me a while to understand what you meant. It was indeed.

Managed to fix (fingers crossed) as follows:

Turned off power
Drained system (goosed prv meant this happened by itself)
Removed cover (3 screws at base and tilt up and back)
Pressure release was located at bottom left (red cap)
Removed valve by unscrewing joint at bottom and split pin at back (messy once split pin removed so have new valve ready!
Reassemble in reverse order

Part you will need is : Vokera Eclipse PRV/Pressure Relief Valve / Safety Valve 8433 which I got for £20 from parts center
