Hi. Racking my brains as to how to calculate the volume of this dormer shape.

Help please?!? :)

going to be difficult without measurements - just need to know the length of all the straight edges plus the height, angles not necessary

Some measurements on the plans would help.
After that you look for rectangles and right angled triangles and work from there.

Need 4 measurements.
The width of the bricks pattern at the top.
The width of the bricks pattern at the bottom.
The height if the brick pattern.
The distance the roof goes back from the brick pattern to the start of the original roof.

Doesn't the program out was drawn in calculate areas and volumes?

My estimate is based on this being
(2sides x Half a Pyramid) + (Half a Cube)

Length of Bottom of one of the two triangles
= (7.095m-1.968m) / 2
= 2.563m

Volume
= (2sides x 1/2 x Volume of Pyramid) + (1/2 x Volume of Cube)
= (1 x 1/2 x ((2.563m x 2.813m x 3.285m) / 3) + (1/2 x (1.968m x 2.813m x 3.285m)))
= (1 x ((2.563m x 2.813m x 3.285m) / 3) + (1/2 x (1.968m x 2.813m x 3.285m)))
= (23.702 / 3) + (1/2 x (18.186))
= (7.901) + (9.093)
= 16.993
= 17.0m³

Note that this is an overestimate as the 7095mm length is longer than the bricks shaded area (it includes the roof area).

<<< corrected as I only added on one of the side triangles

<<< an now I have woken up not happy that it is a pyramid :<

Nice one! Maths...

I think it's 21m²

How did you work it out?
Triangle elevation = 7.21m²
elevation x base/2 = (7.21x3.285)/2 = 11.84m³
Cube elevation = 5.54m²
elevation x base/2 = (5.54x3.285)/2 = 9.1
11.84+9.1 = 21m³

Triangle elevation = 7.21m²
elevation x base/2 = (7.21x3.285)/2 = 11.84m³
Cube elevation = 5.54m²
elevation x base/2 = (5.54x3.285)/2 = 9.1
11.84+9.1 = 21m³

Sorry, forgot to halve the triangle. (11.84/2) That would make it 15.02m³
Thought 21 sounded a lot.
