VW Transporter van.

My van is a T reg. (97 I think ) has been very good to me, but lately the gears have started to get harder/stiffer to go in .

What could the reason be? I hav'nt checked the clutch oil yet ( lazy g!t) Will do tomorrow.

What say you experts

Test No. 1 - do the gears go in fine when the engine is switched off?
If yes, its likely to be a clutch issue. If no, then its usually a linkage lubrication issue - i.e lack of it.
The clutch fluid would have to be very low indeed to have an effect on clutch operation, because then you wouldn't be able to select the gears at all.

Also check the gearbox oil level.......... it's the big nut plug on the side of it, not the nice green filler looking (timing light hole) cap on the top of the gearbox
