hi all
I’m a heating engineer and I’ve just bought my first wagos. I’ve googled and you tubed and can’t see anywhere anyone say you can put 2 wires in one hole on the wago 222. Is this acceptable please
Thanks in advance

You would use a different one instead of putting 2 in 1 hole. Technically it’s going to work but I would advise against it and just get the right wago for the job.

I don't think they are designed for two conductors in one hole. Why would you want to ? 2/3/4 and 5 terminal sizes are available.

e.g. a 3-way is described as 'a 3-conductor' connector. They are clearly not designed for multiple conductors in one hole and it would be foolish to use them that way.

I have twisted 2 small flexes and put in one hole, as well as doubling over flex to get a tighter fit, but only when accessible

Wago terminals are designed for a single conductor per hole. Doing otherwise would be going "off-label".

Now I don't think there is anything in the UK that outright forbids going off-label (heck for many years we all used terminal block that came with bugger-all in the way of labelling or instructions) but doing so means you are fully responsible for the consequences.

The clamping area of a wago terminal is wide and flat, this works well for single wires of a wide variety of diameters, but if used with multiple wires there is a risk that not all of them will be clamped tightly due to slight variations in thickness.

Thanks gents. Totally agree, I’ll get some of the bigger ones. Thanks again
As flameport suggests you might want to consider the newer 221-4xx series, they are more compact and are offered in 2, 3, 5 and 10 conductor configruations. There is also the 221-6xx series if you want support for 6mm² conductors.
