We have a set of wall lights the other half doesn't want them anymore and wants the wall flush. I am thinking just to take the lights down and connect the wires into a block and then wrap it in insulation tape put it in the wall and plaster over it. Does this sound about right?

Many thanks,

Dan

NO!!!

You will be leaving live cables in the wall and these may be drilled into by some unsuspecting peron in the decades to come.

If they are to be left in the wall, the wires must be disconnected at their source (both live and neutral connections). Or pull the cables up into the ceiling/floor void and make a permanent insulated connection.

Yes, that is the way to do it, no problem. But you would need to fit these to the wall (permanently) every few inches along the cable run.
