Wall repair - plasterboard onto lathe?

If you use plasterboard, then screw it on, much stronger that way. If possible, find the posts in the wall to fix it to, or fix it to the lath itself using plasterboard screws. Look out for any pipes and cables in the wall. Once fitted, the area of new plasterboard will need to be taped and plastered out flush to the original surface of the wall. This type of repair can also be done using wet plaster onto the original lath.
Forgot to add, "dot and dabbing" with plasterboard is normally used on a brick/block wall/s, rather than onto wooden lath.
