Does anybody know if there is a supplier that still sells ordinary plastic (not the fancy metal ones) 2 gang wall mains sockets that have a flange that covers the exposed edge of the metal box?

The new sockets hardly have a flange that overlaps the box by 1-2mm. But I need some 4.5mm overlap. If I use these sockets I will have to chase the wall behind every single box to recess it in the wall.

Don't know of any sockets as you describe, but you can get spacers (widely used in mobile homes). Unfortunately I do not know where you you can get them from!

Silicone sealant?

A voodoo doll and pins to get back at the incompetent lazy waster who couldn't be bothered to install the boxes properly?

The boxes have not been installed yet but there are many of them to have to do the job to recess them

If chiselling out brick with a lump hammer makes your arm hurt after a while, you have two choices:

1) Build up stamina by looking at internet pornography
2) Buy an SDS drill with roto-stop and put a chisel bit in it
