When it says wall starter twin pack 2.3m, is that the two pieces equal 2.3m?

Sounds like it, but the labelling claims on starter packs can be confusing.
They typically come in 2.4m's, i think.

Just re-read your post, and perhaps "Twin" actually means 2 sets of Two pieces ie 4 pieces. But check it out with the seller.

I think it is as you say, two pieces in total 2.4m i.e 1.2m each .

Some packs are available with 5 fixings others with 6 fixings.

What this means is, the packs with 5 fixings dictates that you have to fix them as a pair as one of the fixings is shared between two starters.

The packs with 6 fixings means that they can be fitted independently of each other.
