Hey,

Having wall extended and adjacent wall knock through. Brickie has put wall starter on outer skin and then said just cement a brick in the space down the back to fill in the spacing? Thoughts? Will this suffice or need start again and attach it to the end of the internal skin?

Cheers everyone

Hey @^woody^

We're extending a wall along it's length. In the end the returning wall is to be knocked through to open up the rooms.

The brickie has attached wall starters to the external skin of the wall like in the pic (but cut the cavity open between wall starter's to continue it with stihl saw) rather than attach internal WS to the current internal skin. He's saying rather than attach the wall starter directly to the internal skin leaf to continue the cavity it will be enough fill the resulting gap up with a 50mm bit of brick with wall ties in the mortar bed to hold together?

Would this create a strong enough bond or need to start again?

Stupid idea. Need to be fixed to the incoming wall, just needs to bash a few bricks out on the left to get at it.
