I'm wallpapering a ceiling with Superfresco wallpaper. Its a paste the wall type of wallpaper.

Do I need to use wallpaper paste that is specifically made for paste the wall wallpaper or would regular wallpaper paste be sufficent? I see that paste the wall paste is about twice the cost of regular wallpaper paste which seems there must be quite some difference to it.

I bought Solvite All Purpose wallpaper paste. When I bought it, I didn't know there were types of wallpaper paste specifically for paste the wall wallpaper.

Advice welcome. Thanks.

While you can use regular paste in a pinch, it might not give you the best result. If you're looking to go the extra mile, consider checking out some fun, funky wallpaper styles for your next project. Funky wallpapers can add a lot of personality to a room, and with the right paste, your installation will be seamless!
In general, it's best to use the wallpaper paste that's specifically designed for paste-the-wall wallpaper. The main difference is that paste-the-wall paste tends to be a bit thicker and has a longer open time, which is ideal for the type of wallpaper you're using. It’s designed to stay on the wall longer before it dries, giving you more time to adjust the wallpaper as you hang it.

Regular wallpaper paste, like the Solvite All Purpose one you bought, is often thinner and intended for the traditional paste-the-paper method, where the paste is applied directly to the back of the wallpaper. Using regular paste could make it harder to work with, especially on a ceiling, since you might find it more difficult to manage the wallpaper before it sets.

While you can use regular paste in a pinch, it might not give you the best result. If you're going for a smooth, hassle-free application, it’s worth considering the paste specifically designed for paste-the-wall wallpaper, even though it's a bit pricier.
