Google bar? where? You need an ad blocker my friend ;) I've got about 3 running at the moment lol! (Norton, Google toolbar, possibly a windows ad blocker too, i forget!)
 
Me too, I can't see any ads (please don't tell the advertisers that, they'll find a way around it!!!)

However, amazingly, the firewall/netnanny at my work blocks all kinds of innocent, useful engineering and IT sites... yet allows pop-ups and ads.
