is there any particular reason for having push fit or compression connections on waste pipes,are compressions used for paticular situations,just wondered,or is it just personal prefence of using one over the other

Its best to use compression fittings where they are likely to be dismantled for cleaning or inspection otherwise push fits are cheaper and neater
